  • FAQs

Answers to the most common questions we get asked.

If you can't find your answer here, please contact us directly here and we will be happy to assist you!

How do I become a patient?

We welcome all new patients. Simply contact reception here, and they will be happy to help.

    Do I need to enrol?

We encourage all patients to formally enrol with the doctor of their choice. This entitles you to all the primary care health subsidies, including cheaper fees, and promotes personalised 1:1 care with the doctor of your choice.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment either by phoning reception or online through our website portal "Health 365". Ask reception about registering to gain access to the portal. Click here to book.

    What is the enrolment procedure?

Please visit the 'Becoming a Patient' section for full details on how to enrol as a patient.

What if I want a longer appointment?

Our usual appointments are for 15 minutes, but if you have more than one issue to discuss, please advise reception that you need a longer appointment, or book a double appointment online. This will incur an extra fee.

What if the doctor or nurse is running late for my appointment?

Our receptionists attempt to phone or text you to advise if your appointment time is significantly delayed (e.g. due to an emergency).

Can you just write me a prescription?

Whether a prescription can be written without a consultation will be decided by your doctor, and you will be advised by reception when requesting a prescription if a consultation with your doctor is required.

What if I am new to New Zealand?

You are most welcome to become a patient. Please note that only permanent residents or citizens, or those with certain work visas qualify for health cost subsidies.

    How can I pay?

We prefer payment at the time of consultation either with cash/EFTPOS/credit card or by internet banking, and settlement on the day is required for any prescriptions or other invoices.

What if I need after hours care?

You can call our normal phone number here. Our phone line is answered by Whakarongorau Aotearoa NZ Telehealth Services (Formerly Homecare Medical) after hours, 7 days a week, with a nurse triage service offering advice and recommendation for assessment if necessary.

How can I access my laboratory results?

Your doctor or nurse will advise you directly of any results requiring a comment. You can see your results via the portal once filed by your doctor. You can also request to be copied into your results when at the laboratory.

    Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes, we are happy to offer phone/video consultations on an as requested basis. Please see book an appointment for further details.
